Small Groups

Small Groups

We have a number of small groups which meet at various times and on different days, catering for teenagers through to seniors, but all having a common aim to grow together in God’s Word, and to support each other in life.

Small Groups are a vital part of the heartbeat of the United Parish, and it is through these groups that individuals can get connected with others that are at similar stages of life and build positive friendships that will help them grow.  It is simply not possible to walk the Christian path if all we do is be together on a Sunday. Jesus did life with those around him. He ate with them, he prayed with them, he loved them, and he taught them.

Groups normally meet in homes or coffee shops, and have refreshments. However due to the current restrictions with Covid-19 groups now meet virtually using Zoom or in church buildings that can safely offer social distancing. Folks will chat and discuss how God’s Word applies to their daily lives, there’s a chance to pray for each other, and opportunity to learn from one another. Small Groups should not merely exist for those within the group but there should be opportunities beyond the group encouraging service in the church, community and beyond.

Whilst there is a great choice and range of small groups, we would recommend that you invest only in one group wherever possible. This allows you to build relationships with a small group of people who can support each other.
