Who is Jesus?

Who is Jesus?

If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:9

We believe that God loves you and offers you a full and abundant life, for now and for eternity. However, the only way to know God is through his son Jesus. Jesus wasn’t some fairytale. He really did exist. Many historians of his time talked about him and what he did amongst his community.

The Gospels – which are books in the Bible written by men who lived at the same time as Jesus – recalled with their own words that Jesus was no ordinary man, but was in fact God in human form. The writers’ aim was that everyone who would read their words would realise that coming to know this Jesus was the ultimate life–changing experience.

Let’s be honest, when we look at this world today we all realise how much it is broken. But here’s where LOVE steps in. Jesus’ mission was to give up his life as a sacrifice for our fallen humanity. He died young – in a brutal way – nailed to a cross. But then the most incredible thing happened, and only because he was and is God. He came back to life again! And through this demonstration, He gives new life to all who will believe in and follow him. To believe in Jesus is not about philosophical insight or about stepping up to some higher moral ground. Instead, Jesus offers each of us a living relationship that brings us a freedom – through forgiveness – to live the life that we are created to live.

Lord Jesus Christ, I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life (take a few moments to ask his forgiveness for anything particular that is on your conscience).  Please forgive me. I now turn from everything that I know is wrong. Thank you that you died on the cross for me, so that I could be forgiven and set free. Thank you that you offer me forgiveness and the gift of your Spirit. I now receive that gift. Please come into my life by your Holy Spirit to be with me forever.  Thank you Lord Jesus, Amen.
