A Pirate’s Picnic

A Pirate’s Picnic

AHOY there matey!! Each year we run a fun packed holiday bible club programme for children of primary school age, this year we are doing things a little different – Families are invited to bring a picnic and join us for a 4 day pirate’s adventure. Please note – All children MUST be accompanied by an adult during the event.

More details are available in the downloadable document, or you can read below :

Registration

Registration is at 11 am each day and the programme will begin at 11.30am. The programme will end between 1.30pm and 1.45pm, giving parents time to pack up. After you register you will be shown to an allocated spot in the field that is marked out with social distancing in mind. If you are coming in a bubble please sign up on line in ONE booking indicating the number of people in your bubble, so that we can allocate a large enough space and ensure you are seated together.

Programme

The children will be invited to take part in the following programme:

  • Singing
  • Dancing (start practicing that cha cha slide!)
  • Arts and crafts
  • Upfront games
  • Choose a leader to walk the plank! (get wet!! 😊)
  • Each day through the drama, which is situated on a giant pirate’s ship…you will be whisked away to skull island as we follow the journey of some children who encounter pirates and discover a very special treasure.

On Sunday the programme will look a little different: it will include all of the fun elements of the Pirate’s Picnic alongside a short talk and some family worship. After this we will be having a community BBQ and the children/teens are invited to bounce around on some inflatables: bouncy castle with slide/toddler inflatable play zone and assault courses. (There will be different inflatables assigned to different age groups – toddlers, age 3 – 6yrs, primary school and secondary school)

Cost

We have managed to receive some funding for the event, therefore most of it is covered and we are only asking for a small contribution from parents to cover the rest. Adults are FREE, and children are £5 each (one off payment, payable at registration when you arrive).

But we understand that for some families this has been a very difficult year and finances may be an issue, please do not let that stop you coming – drop us an email and come along! (dianne@theunitedparish.org.uk)

Fancy Dress

Children (and adults) are invited to dress up in a pirate themed costume – there will be a prize each day for the “best” costume. Let your imagination run wild! 😉
